It is the in-thing during Christmas periods to decorate your homes and celebrate with friends and family. The Christmas trees you used last year may still do for this year but before you begin to mount them with the bright dazzling lights make sure that both the trees and lights are in good working conditions because it has been estimated that about 80,000 people get involved in careless home accidents every year; mainly for careless placements of decorative items so play safe by making sure that this Christmas season is a trouble free holiday season for everybody.
Make sure that those fairy lights do not have frayed or bare wires, no damaged or cracked plugs. If these wires have been in use for four seasons, then it is only reasonable that you replace them with new ones. These wires should be kept clear and tidy once you put them up to avoid trips and falls.
Do not place the Christmas tree near any naked fire source, if you are going in for a life cut tree; make sure the needles are not brittle or dry as these are signs that the tree is not really very fresh and can easily catch fire. Place your fresh tree a sturdy and non tip over heavy bottomed stand so it does not fall freely. Make sure that these trees are far from the fire places in your home; at least 3 – 4 feet will work just fine.
